Sharing Wi-Fi on an iPad, iPhone, or Mac

It is very simple to share Wi-Fi passwords between Apple devices, but you must have the other person’s email address stored in your Contacts and vice versa. Also, ensure that both your devices are running either the most recent versions of iOS/iPadOS or macOS High Sierra.

    1. Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices (personal hotspot off). Make sure both devices are nearby to each other, in range of the Wi-Fi network you want to share, and unlocked.
    2. Ask the other person to select the Wi-Fi network you want to share on their device.
    3. On your device, a pop-up window will appear asking if you wish to share the Wi-Fi password.
    4. Tap “Share Password” to finish.
