macOS Sequoia: What to Know, Features, Release Date and More

    Apple’s WWDC conference was the talk of the town a couple of weeks ago, with a host of exciting announcements across Apple products and software. Aside from the exciting Apple Intelligence, the highlight of the week was macOS Sequoia, the fifteenth operating system released by Apple. Let’s dive into its key features and release dates.

    Release Date

    The first developer beta version of macOS Sequoia was released on June 10, 2024. This is available to anyone with a free Apple Developer account. As for the public launch, this is expected in the fall of 2024.

    • Safari Improvements
      • Highlights: Quickly pull up relevant info from websites.
      • Redesigned Reader: Get the gist of an article with a table of contents and high-level summary.

    • Gaming
      • Enjoy new and upcoming games optimized for Metal 3 and Apple silicon, including titles like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Frostpunk 2, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
    • Messages
      • Explore all-new ways to play with text in your messages.


    Except for the 2018 MacBook Air, which will lose support, compatibility for Sequoia remains the same as macOS Sonoma (14).
