Who Qualifies for Compensation in the Verizon Class Action Settlement?

Current or past US customers who paid for postpaid wireless or data services from Verizon, and incurred administrative costs between January 1, 2016 and November 8, 2023, are eligible. Bear in mind that a postpaid wireless plan means paying for the service after using it, usually at the conclusion of a billing cycle (consumers who purchased prepaid plans from Verizon are not included in the settlement).

As of September 30, 2023, Verizon served about 93 million retail postpaid customers, the company revealed in October. According to the official Verizon administrative charge settlement website, you can file a claim if you have received a notification about the settlement via mail or email.

What’s the Payout and When Can I Expect to Receive It?

Verizon has agreed to contribute $100 million to a settlement fund in the event that the settlement is approved and officially concluded. Depending on the number of valid claims filed and the length of time the individual was a Verizon subscriber, those who file valid claims before the deadline may each receive up to $100. The settlement FAQ states that after the settlement is approved and formally closed, payments will be made by check or electronic transfer. The settlement hearing is set for March 22, 2024.
