If you receive unknown text messages that claim your package is “stopped” and you have to click on a link provided to track it, please beware. It’s probably a phishing scam!
Impersonating famous brands like Amazon, Walmart, FedEx, or DHL, scammers are trying to trick you into giving your personal information through a phishing link. It will take you to a website where you will be asked to enter your personal information, password, credit card, or bank account details. In worse situations, malware will start to download as soon as you click the link.

How the scam unfolds:
Take this text as an example. The link will take you to a fake parcel tracking page that looks like this:
You are given a set of tracking codes that is also fake. We get this code even though we didn’t order anything recently.
If you click on the “Track your item” bottom, a piece of “package information” will appear, which is also fake.
After clicking on “Schedule delivery now,” you will then start to fill in some questions and get “delivery confirmation” at the end.
Finally, when you click on “Enter Shipping information,” a fake web page that offers cheap iPhones will appear, tempting you to enter your personal information such as Address, Phone, or Email. Here’s how phishing happens: your personal data will end up in scammers’ hands, and they can use it for other scams and crimes such as identity theft.
