Evri package delivery scams have surged recently, with scammers impersonating the legitimate courier company Evri (formerly known as Hermes) via text messages. The goal of these scams is to steal your sensitive personal data. To learn everything you need to know, including how to stay safe, keep on reading.

    How the Evri Scam Works

These recent Evri scams start with an unsolicited text message designed to look like an official message from Evri. These messages often cite common delivery problems — such as a damaged parcel, incorrect address, or missed delivery attempt — to enhance their believability.

The core aim is to trick you into tapping on a fraudulent link included in the message. This link usually leads to a fake website designed to steal your personal data.

Below are some examples of common Evri text scams.

Example #1: Track & Reschedule Scam

How to Stay Safe from Evri Scams

    • Verify sender details: Check if messages or emails are genuinely from Evri. Genuine Evri SMS messages will only come from “Evri” and emails will typically come from one of these three email addresses:
      • @evri.com
      • @hermes-europe.co.uk
      • @myhermes.co.uk.
    • Be cautious with links: Avoid clicking suspicious links, especially those asking for personal or financial info.
    • Report the scam: If you’re in the UK and you receive a scam text, forward it to 7726 to report it to your mobile provider. You can also email Evri at phishing@evri.com to alert them to the fraudulent message. If you’ve fallen victim, report the incident to Action Fraud (0300 123 2040) if you’re in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland, or to the police if you’re in Scotland.
