[Scam Alert] “You did it!” PS5 Lottery Scam

    Security alert
    Security alert

Did you see pop-up messages that said “Congratulations! You’ve won a free PlayStation 5”? Be careful, these messages are SCAMs! The spam messages tell people that they won a PS5 and that all they need to do is to press “OK” botton and send their living address along with a small amount of money for the shipment fee. The “OK” botton is a phishing link and leads to a site, asking you to enter your personal information. Scammers can thus make use of your personal information for other scams such as identity theft. In other cases, it tells you that you have to share the link with your friends in order to get the reward.

If you receive similar messages with such a too-good-to-be-true offer, DON’T click on the button or link. Just delete it, or check if the link is safe before your next move with Trend Micro ScamCheck: simply copy/paste the link and send it to ScamCheck!
