Are you tagged in Tweets that read, “Friends, the surprise is coming. Are you interested?” with an image that says Ray-Ban is having a 90% off sale for only 24 hours? Be careful, this is a reoccurring scam!
Scammers use fake Twitter accounts or compromised ones to post Tweets of scam messages and tag people randomly, spamming them with similar messages:
Content
24 hours only Ray-Ban GENUINE SINCE 1937
$249.90 $24.99
84 anniversary celebration, 90% discount!
Ray-Ban official website
The campaign is NOT a legitimate one from Ray-Ban officials. Actually, it has been circulating for years online. The web addresses in the scam message above may differ, but they all lead to fake Ray-Ban websites with incredible, too-good-to-be-true prices of sunglasses:
Please remember that the only genuine Ray-Ban website is ray-ban.com. Don’t buy anything on it!
